With the Tana Law, the authorities allocated fishing rights to the farming population in the river valley. The purpose of the Tana Law was to ensure that individuals connected to the Tana River System retained the fishing rights they had acquired through long-standing use.<\/p>\n<p>The law was renewed in 2014.
