People younger than 18 are\u00a0not<\/span> required to pay the Norwegian State Fishing Fee. Both locals and visiting anglers can get their licenses in one of these outlets<\/a><\/span>. Locals can also get their license online. Visiting anglers\u00a0who intend to fish in the border section and the lower Norwegian part of the Tana River can also buy their permits online, but they must visit a sales outlet in Tana\/Karasjok to activate the permit. This arrangement ensures that fishing equipment is disinfected before being used in the watercourse.<\/p>\n

Local fishermen<\/h2>\n

Local fishermen can buy a season pass for the entire Tana River system. They can also buy a permit covering the anadromous stretches in either Tana or Karasjok municipalities. Local fishermen are persons who are permanently residing in Tana or Karasjok municipalities. Persons residing along the tributaries of the Tana River system in Kautokeino municipality also have the status of residents.<\/p>\n

Salmon deed holders have the right to fish with nets in the Tana River system according to the Tana Law (2014) \u00a7 4. Salmon deed holders pay the same price for a season pass as other local fishermen who have rod fishing rights under the Tana Law \u00a7 5.<\/p>\n

Members of the household of salmon deed holders can link their fishing license to their salmon deed holder, thus giving them the ability to report net catches on an equal basis with the salmon deed holders.<\/p>\n

Visiting anglers<\/span><\/div>\n

Visiting anglers are individuals who reside outside the municipalities of Tana and Karasjok, and the anadromous parts of the Tana River system in Kautokeino municipality. Visiting anglers can only purchase daily permits (they can buy several consecutive days).<\/p>\n

The visiting anglers can be divided into two groups: residents of Norway and others. Only persons who are permanently residing in Norway are eligible to buy fishing permits for the Norwegian tributaries. Others are only eligible to buy fishing permits for the Tana River, An\u00e1rjohka, and the lower part of K\u00e1r\u00e1\u0161johka (up to the confluence with Ie\u0161johka, at Sk\u00e1idigea\u010d\u010di).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Fishing permits can be purchased online, but they are only valid once the fisherman has visited a sales outlet that has an agreement with TF. This arrangement is to ensure that all fishermen disinfect their fishing equipment before starting to fish in the Tana River system.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Fishing in the stretch from Tana delta Bieht\u00e1rjohka is also covered by a separate permit. This fishing primarily targets sea trout. The season runs from June 23rd to July 31st for visitors and until August 31st for locals.<\/p>\n
